1- Avocado, yogurt, and honey

Ingredients:

  • Half an avocado
  • One tablespoon of yogurt
  • One teaspoon of honey

Benefits: This mask provides light exfoliation and a super boost of hydration. Rich in healthy fats, vitamins, and antioxidants, avocado is very hydrating. Yogurt, which contains the alpha hydroxy acid lactic acid, acts as a chemical exfoliant. And finally, the honey adds an extra boost of hydration.

2- Honey, cinnamon, and lemon juice

Ingredients:

  • Two tablespoons of honey
  • The juice from one lemon slice
  • One teaspoon of cinnamon

Benefits: This sweet blend targets inflammation and dark spots. Honey is antibacterial, wound healing, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and an antioxidant. Go light on the lemons and wear SPF.

3- Brown sugar and coconut oil

Ingredients:

  • Two tablespoons of brown sugar
  • Two tablespoons of coconut oil

Benefits: Brown sugar is both a physical exfoliant and a chemical exfoliant because it’s a natural source of glycolic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid). This exfoliation delivers smooth, bright skin. Then the coconut oil gives you a surge of hydration during and post-mask, so your skin won’t dry out after all the exfoliation. It also has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.

4-Egg whites and orange juice

Ingredients:

  • One egg white
  • One tablespoon of orange juice

Benefits: This mask is meant to diminish acne and tone skin. Shah explains egg whites have astringent and exfoliating properties, and they are rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals, which can benefit the skin.

 5- Oatmeal, yogurt, and honey

Ingredients:

  • Two tablespoons of oats
  • One teaspoon of honey
  • One teaspoon of yogurt

Benefits: This mask cleanses and exfoliates the skin. Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties and helps skin maintain its barrier function. A strong barrier is crucial to protect skin from external threats such as pollution and to trap in water to maintain skin’s moisture levels. Yogurt works as a gentle chemical exfoliant, and honey, once again, hydrates.

6- Banana, honey, and lemon juice

Ingredients:

  • One banana
  • One tablespoon of honey
  • The juice from one slice of lemon

Benefits: This blend of banana, honey, and lemon is meant to brighten dark spots and blemishes. Bananas contain a number of vitamins, antioxidants, and potassium, which work with lemon’s vitamin C to brighten the skin. And honey soothes inflammation.

7- Strawberries and honey

Ingredients:

  • Three strawberries
  • One tablespoon of honey

Benefits: This combination exfoliates dead skin cells and helps acne breakouts. Strawberries contain alpha and beta hydroxy acids [like salicylic acid] to help exfoliate and brighten the skin. The salicylic acid can help improve acne. They also contain vitamin C, and other antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that can benefit the skin. The honey, again, adds a moisturizing benefit.
